We have wide experience in the areas of television, theatre, kindergartens, child care centres, trade promotions, colleges, schools, festivals and shopping centres, to name but a few. Our puppets have represented Australian puppetry in the USA, Argentina and South Africa, and our work has been presented at venues such as the Great Barrier Reef's Hayman Island and the Sydney Opera House. We have also performed at many major events including the Townsville Pacific Festival, Brisbane's Warana Festival, the 1982 Commonwealth Games, the Canberra Festival and World Expo 88.

Ehmer's Puppets on the road...
On our visit to the five star resort on Hayman Island in Queensland's Barrier Reef we performed shows and provided puppet making workshops for the younger guests from all over the world. It may have been the first time a puppet company had presented their work in the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park. We have made many visits to Canberra for the National Festival to entertain schools and the general public in the central city area of Glebe Park.
During the life of Ehmer's Puppets, performances have been designed and built for many different mediums. "Strings Over Australia" was a large stage production for the 1982 Commonwealth Games in Brisbane, showcasing a cast of 112 puppets. Our typical performances focus on smaller fast moving, light hearted musical variety shows, designed to entertain a wide range of age groups. These shows feature hand puppets, rod puppets, marionettes and the popular Upside Down U-men Rodionettes.
Each year we assemble a
range of themed shows including - Australian, Easter, Mixed Variety, Spring
and Christmas. These shows can include puppet making demonstrations. For older
children and adults the program "Behind the Scenes of the Art of Puppetry" covers
history, printed matter, puppets from around the world, videos, demonstrations
on how to make simple, more difficult, and professional puppets. This program
concludes with a fun musical show which entertains and shows how various puppets
are manipulated.
